JLB POSITION OPENING: Deputy Editor for Reviews

JLB is looking to identify a new Deputy Editor for Reviews. The position will serve as part of the senior editorial staff at JLB, report to the Editor-In-Chief, and will be in charge of overseeing both invited as well as unsolicited reviews. The position currently secures 24-36 reviews a year and has required 10 hours/week. Duties will include attendance at senior editorial team meetings, researching current literature and analyzing trends in publishing to identify new review topics, inviting review authors to maintain review placement in each issue, ensuring adequate review process, and preparing status reports. The ideal candidate would have a well-established track-record of research activity, experience as a reviewer/editor, evidence of leadership activity, and a passion for the mission of Society journals.

The position will be supported by an editorial stipend ($13,000/year), travel expenses for SLB annual meetings, and editorial assistance.
