POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN NEUTROPHIL BIOLOGY

PURDUE UNIVERSITY – WEST LAFAYETTE, IN

A NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available in the Deng laboratory at Purdue University (https://www.bio.purdue.edu/lab/deng/) to study function of miRNAs in regulating neutrophil functions using the zebrafish, cell culture and mice models. We have finished a genetic screen in zebrafish and identified miRNAs that regulate neutrophil functions. The postdoc is expected to use human neutrophil like cells to dissect the underlying molecular mechanism and assess the impact of the discovery in mice disease models related to inflammation and cancer. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

The PI is a member of the Purdue Center for Cancer Research, the Purdue Institute of Inflammation, Immunology and Infectious Disease, and Purdue University Interdisciplinary Life Science Program.

Qualified applicants should have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. and have a strong record of publications. Experience with microRNA-target interaction, biochemistry and mice disease models is desirable. Interested candidates should send the CV, representative publications and names of three references to Dr. Qing Deng ([email protected]).
