Post Doc Research Scholar (Kubasiak Lab, Loyola Chicago)

Position Summary
The laboratory of Dr. John Kubasiak at Loyola University Chicago’s Burn Shock Trauma Research Institute (BSTRI) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team studying the mechanisms of vascular dysfunction, endothelial injury, and immune dysregulation following severe burn and critical illness.
This position is supported by a recently awarded NIH R35 grant, providing long-term support for mechanistic and translational investigations centered on angiopoietin/Tie2 signaling, microvascular repair, and host response after injury.
Research Focus & Techniques
The successful candidate will lead and contribute to projects using cutting-edge molecular, cellular, and spatial profiling approaches to dissect vascular and immune signaling across injury models.
Key technologies and methodologies include:

· Single-cell RNA-seq/CITE-seq, bulk RNA profiling, and spatial transcriptomics and proteomics
· qPCR and flow cytometry
· Cell culture, ELISAs, and murine experimentation (burn, infection, and resuscitation models)
· Histology, immunofluorescence, and biomarker quantification
· Translational science platforms including organ-on-chip, bioreactor systems, and bioinformatics workflows for high-dimensional data integration
