Chaouki Benabdessalem

I received my PhD in Immunology and Biotechnology in December 2008. Since 2009, I have been a researcher and Assistant Professor in the Laboratory of Transmission, Control and Immunobiology of Infection, Institut Pasteur de Tunis, Tunisia. Currently, I am conducting research in order to identify predictive markers of clinical status in TB-infected humans as well as to identify correlates of protection for prevention of disease vaccine development. Extrapulmonary TB, currently represents a major public health problem in Tunisia and I receive funding to develop and evaluate new diagnostic tools in the context of TB lymphadenitis.

 


Gausal Khan

I completed my PhD in Physiology (Sciences) from Jadavpur University, India in 2003. I have worked for more than 8 years at various institutions including the Karolinska, Institute, Sweden; University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha & Methodist Research Institute, IUPUI, Indianapolis, USA; and the University of Western Ontario, Canada. I have also worked as an Associate Professor and Scientist in India for 8 years as a principal guide for 3 PhD and 3 masters thesis. Thus far, I have 40 publications with: h-index-9 ; Citations: 292, a book chapter and also one patent. I have several awards and honors including the YW Loke New Investigator Award, Developing world scientist award, Star in Global Health, Grant Challenges Canada and The Fellow of The Royal Society of Medicine, London.  Currently, I am working as  a Professor in Physiology in Fiji School of Medicine, Fiji National University, Fiji. I have one research grant from Grant Challenges Canada, Canada. I am experienced in the problem based learning mode of teaching.
