The RBL Program Manager develops, leads, executes and manages infectious disease studies requiring biosafety level two or three (BSL2 or 3) with UTHSC RBL personnel, collaborators and/or clients. Studies include in vitro and/or small animal experiments. The position serves as the lead technical expert of the RBL high-end equipment, such as Perkin Elmer JANUS robotics systems, QuantStudio6, EnVision Plate Readers, Luminex, MiSeQ and IVIS live animal imager.  The position works closely with the RBL Director to promote the visibility of the RBL through external scientific meetings and visits with academic, industrial or government agencies and any other activity that contributes to building scientific business at the RBL. The ability to communicate (verbal and written), travel and work in BSL3 containment is required. Prior experience in infectious diseases is required. The position supports the development, writing, costing and submission of grants, contracts or fee-for-service proposals and supports writing of publications and reports.  Minimum Requirements: Education - Master’s Degree in life sciences required; Ph.D. in life sciences preferred (Transcript required). Experience - Ten (10) years of experience in in vivo and after life studies using viruses. Knowledge in life sciences of vivo and after life studies using viruses. Ability to work independently on grant proposals is essential.
