2 SLB Members Elected as AAAS Distinguished Fellows

Please join us in congratulating Liwu Li, Virginia Tech, AND Lou Justement, UAB and SLB President, who have both been elected as a distinguished fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Liwu's election is for his distinguished contributions to the field of innate immune memory dynamics and inflammation, particularly defining fundamental principles of signal strength and duration dependent programming of leukocytes involved in health and disease. Lou has been elected for distinguished contributions to the field of immunology, and for outstanding service in science policy to increase diversity and education.

This year also coincides with the 150th anniversary of the AAAS Distinguished Fellows program!
