Assistant/Associate Professor of Immunology

 The Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology, College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University seeks to expand our expertise in infectious diseases of production animals and host-pathogen interactions by hiring an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (tenure-track or tenured) with expertise in basic/domestic animal immunology. This position will be a 12-month appointment with approximately a 70% research, 20% teaching, and 10% service appointment.  The faculty is particularly interested in individuals with demonstrated experience in working across disciplines and collaborating broadly. Highest consideration will be given to candidates who also possess a strong background in cellular and molecular biology with investigations that are potentially synergistic with current College of Veterinary Medicine faculty interests in infectious diseases, vaccinology, inflammation, toxicology, cancer, public health, and food safety.

Applicants must (a) possess a Ph.D. in immunology or a related discipline; (b) demonstrate potential for teaching excellence at the graduate and professional levels in immunology; (c) demonstrate potential to acquire extramural funding or have an active research program. The successful candidate will establish (Assistant Professor level) or maintain (Associate Professor level) an extramurally funded research program, teach graduate courses in the department, share responsibility for classroom instruction of first year veterinary students, and serve as the director of a core flow cytometer and cell sorting laboratory.
