2024 Abstracts

All participants are highly encouraged to submit an abstract. Abstracts will be accepted early Spring 2024 through July 11th. Submissions received during this time will be reviewed for concurrent session oral presentations, posters, and/or flash talks as well as for award and grant consideration. There will be an additional late breaking abstract submission period for poster review in August 2024. You must register for the meeting prior to submitting an abstract.  To submit an abstract, register for the meeting and then follow the links provided. Conference abstracts will be available to all participants as a PDF on the website and on the meeting app. Abstract submission is free for members.

During submission, you will indicate if you prefer to be considered for an oral presentation in a concurrent session or a poster presentation; and also if you wish to be considered for a flash talk (trainees only). Oral presentation slots are limited and notation of preference does not guarantee a spot. Decisions on presentation format will be announced in early August. Abstracts chosen for oral presentation in a concurrent session may, or may not, be invited to also present a poster pending the number of submissions and space.  Full details will be provided on abstract notification letters in August along with award and grant decisions.

Before proceeding, please ensure you have reviewed the abstract requirements noted below along with the various award opportunities and details about the EASE program. This will ensure you are prepared to complete the submission process.  Once fully prepared, a submission will take no longer than 5 minutes to complete.

IMPORTANT: Use THIS WORD FORM to provide your full abstract including title, authors, affiliations, abstract body, and optional image and/or funding statement and then upload it where requested. HERE is an example of a properly formatted abstract submission.

Abstract Formatting Rules:

      1. Copy and paste the abstract body into the word form using the destination theme. This is very important to ensure Greek characters, italics, super and subscripts etc. carryover.

      3. May, but does not have to, include subsections (i.e. Introduction, Methods etc.)
      4. One (1) figure or image (plus caption) may be included
      5. Word doc must be saved and uploaded as "LASTNAMEFIRSTINITAL_SLB2024_abstract" such as "HollandJ_SLB2024_abstract"
